It’s somewhat hidden, it’s inside Cole’s french dip restaurant. Once you walk in, go right past the hostess and there’s a little non descript door, walk through there boom! You’re at the Varnish. Its dimly lit, jazz and 20’s/30’s music is playing in the background and the bartenders are top notch.
Due to the fact that this bar is so small, they only allow a certain number of people at a time. There is a host that checks off your name if you made a reservation. If you did not make a reservation, they put your name on a list and they’ll text you when it’s your turn.
This is one of those mixology kind of places so drinks take a while.
It’s not a place for a large party, max 4-6 people to fit in one booth, and it’ll be tight
A perfect place for drinks after a hot date! Varnish is small. It seems like almost the size of my living room… except much more sophisticated (exaggerating)
