I was walking down the street, slightly hungover, squinting at my phone trying to find somewhere to eat. I asked a guy working construction if he knew a place. He suggested the Manhattan Diner. I was slightly aware of the blurry image of seeing it last night. I asked him where it was. He lifted up his hand and pointed; literally a door away. I smiled and said, “Oh, yeah.” As if I knew it was there all along.
This is what you’re looking for when you’re in a big city and you just want a good ol no fuss comfort food kind of a place. This is a great diner. The food is simple and delicious and very reasonably priced. The service was exceptional and above all, the place has character and a full bar.
It reminded me of The Pantry Diner in LA. Open 24hrs and is a staple to their respective cities. 2532 Broadway, New York, NY 10025 MAP
